SPEDTex — Special Education Information Center

Texas Transition and Employment Guide

Required per TEC §29.0112(e). A comprehensive guide to help students with disabilities and their families plan for transition to adult life after high school. Available in English and Spanish. Visit: spedsupport.tea.texas.gov/resource-library/texas-transition-and-employment-guide

Notice of Procedural Safeguards

Under IDEA, parents and students have special legal rights during evaluation and the IEP process. The Notice of Procedural Safeguards is available in 30+ languages at SPEDTex (www.spedtex.org).

Parent's Guide to the ARD Process

Helps parents understand special education procedures, rights, and their role in the ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) committee process. Available in 30+ languages at SPEDTex (www.spedtex.org).

Gifted and Talented Program

Divide ISD identifies and serves students who demonstrate exceptional intellectual ability through the Gifted and Talented (G/T) program. The program provides advanced learning opportunities and enrichment activities. For more information, contact the campus principal.

Section 504 Program

Section 504 is a federal law under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 that prohibits discrimination against students with disabilities. Divide ISD provides accommodations and support services to eligible students through individualized Section 504 plans. Contact the campus principal or Superintendent's office for more information.

Special Education Services

Divide ISD provides special education services through the Menard Special Education Cooperative.

CHILD FIND: If you believe your child (ages 3–21) may need special education services, contact Principal Callie Hough at (830) 640-3322 to begin the free evaluation process. This service is available regardless of whether your child is currently enrolled.


OUT-OF-FIELD EDUCATOR NOTICE (TEC §21.057): Parents and guardians may request information about whether their child's teacher meets state certification requirements for the subject and grade level they teach. Contact the Superintendent's office at (830) 640-3322 for more information.
