Divide ISD annually notifies parents of students regarding their rights under the following federal laws:

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act): Parents have the right to inspect and review their child's education records, request amendment of records, and consent to disclosure of personally identifiable information. To file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by Divide ISD to comply with FERPA, contact: Family Policy Compliance Office, U.S. Department of Education, 400 Maryland Ave SW, Washington DC 20202.

PPRA (Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment): Parents have the right to be notified and opt their child out of certain school activities including surveys that collect personal information, physical examinations, and collection of information for marketing purposes.

School Health Advisory Council (SHAC): Divide ISD maintains a SHAC as required by Texas Education Code §28.004. Meeting notices are posted at least three business days in advance. Contact the Superintendent's office at (830) 640-3322.
